Summer Supervisor for Street/Park/Harbor

The Technical Division operates independently and consists of five areas: Street/Park/Harbor, Nyköping Water, Waste Management, Municipal Properties, and Meal Services. These are supported by a project department, an economics department, and an administrative staff. The division employs about 400 staff and has an annual turnover of over 1 billion SEK. Our clients are the Municipal Executive Board, the Environmental and Community Planning Committee, and the Culture and Leisure Committee.

The Street, Park, Harbor section within the technical division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of streets, parks, and Nyköping's harbor on behalf of the Building and Technical Committee, as well as certain recreational facilities on behalf of the Culture and Leisure Committee. The operations ensure that Nyköping has a functional and safe street and road system that meets the needs of traffic safety, security, and accessibility. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Street/Park/Harbor section is looking for an engaged summer supervisor who can guide the municipality's summer youth workers during their summer internship in the Park in 2025. It is important that you have an interest in working with youth as you will be responsible for the daily planning and execution of the work. Your role as a summer supervisor involves performing tasks together with the youth and guiding them in practical work. This includes planning and distributing tasks such as weeding, pruning, and litter picking, for example. You will have support from regular supervisors in your role, but we consider it an advantage if you have experience in park work.

Working with the summer youth is expected to take about 75% of your time, with the remaining time participating in regular park activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying:

• have completed high school education
• have a B driver's license
• understand and master Swedish

Meritorious are:

• experience working with and leading youth
• experience in park work

We are looking for someone with a good ability to lead groups and engage and guide others. We see that you enjoy coordinating and organizing tasks and have an interest in working with youth. You have good communication skills, are pedagogical, and are good at meeting other people. You find it easy to collaborate and are responsible.
